Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Mixing
- In a separate bowl, whisk together apple cider, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Baking
- Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Finishing
- While donuts are still warm, dip them in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
- Serve warm and enjoy your "grown" apple cider donuts!
Notes
For extra apple flavor, reduce the apple cider by simmering it on the stove until it's about half the original volume and then let it cool before adding to the batter.
