Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Frying
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or Dutch oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the hot oil, careful not to overcrowd the pot.
