  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 0.5 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Equipment

  • medium bowl
  • fork
  • large non-stick skillet
  • spatula

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the drained and flaked salmon with the beaten egg, bread crumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped fresh dill, and lemon juice. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  2. Form the mixture into seven equal-sized patties. You can lightly flour your hands if the mixture is too sticky.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat with 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil or butter.
  2. Carefully place the salmon patties in the hot skillet. Cook for 3-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and heated through.
Serving
  1. Serve the salmon patties immediately with a side of tartar sauce, a squeeze of fresh lemon, or a green salad.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of smoked paprika to the mixture. These patties can also be baked at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden and cooked through.
