  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Preparation
  1. Prepare the chicken by patting it dry and seasoning with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, apple cider vinegar, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
  3. Marinate the chicken in the honey garlic sauce for at least 30 minutes, or preferably several hours in the refrigerator.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat with a little oil.
  2. Sear the chicken thighs for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside, keeping warm.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  5. Pour the remaining marinade into the hot pan and bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
  7. Return the chicken to the pan, coating it in the thickened honey garlic sauce.

Notes

For extra flavor, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with rice or noodles.
