Ingredients

Garlic Bread Ingredients
  • 1 Loaf of artisan bread
  • 2-3 Heads of garlic
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowls
  • Knife
  • Foil

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the artisan bread lengthwise and set aside.
  2. Roast the garlic by drizzling olive oil over the heads, wrapping them in foil, and baking for 25 minutes until soft. Once cooled, squeeze out the roasted garlic cloves into a small bowl.
Making the Garlic Butter
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, mashed roasted garlic, chopped fresh parsley, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Baking the Garlic Bread
  1. Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over the cut sides of the bread. Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and fragrant. For extra crispiness, you can broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade garlic bread!

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to your garlic butter. You can also experiment with different herbs like chives or oregano. If you don't have artisan bread, a French baguette works perfectly too.
