Preparation
- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and stir in sugar, salt, and oil.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, turning once to coat, then cover and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours until doubled.
Baking
- Punch down the dough, divide into three portions, and shape each into a loaf.
- Place loaves in greased loaf pans, cover, and let rise again for 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Brush baked loaves with melted butter and cool on wire racks.
