Notes

For the best flavor, use ripe, in-season tomatoes and high-quality fresh mozzarella. Buffalo mozzarella offers a creamier texture and richer flavor. While a traditional Caprese salad doesn't include balsamic, a glaze can add a touch of sweetness and acidity that many find appealing. If fresh basil is unavailable, you can sparsely sprinkle with dried basil, but the fresh herb is highly recommended for authenticity and flavor.
