Ingredients

Dough
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1.25 cups Warm water
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil

Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Plastic wrap or damp cloth

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt, then gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  3. Lightly grease a clean bowl with olive oil, place the dough inside, and turn to coat; cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp cloth.
  4. Place the covered bowl in a warm place, such as a slightly warmed oven (turned off) or near a sunny window, and let it rise for 45-60 minutes, or until doubled in size.
Baking
  1. Once risen, gently punch down the dough to release air, then transfer it to a lightly floured surface.
  2. Shape the dough into your desired pizza crust, add your favorite toppings, and bake according to your pizza recipe's instructions.

Notes

For an even quicker rise, place the covered bowl in a warm oven that has been preheated to its lowest setting and then turned off. Ensure the water is warm (105-115°F/40-46°C) but not hot, as too much heat can kill the yeast. Adjust flour amount as needed to achieve a workable dough consistency.
