Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Mixing
- In a separate bowl, mash the ripe bananas and then stir in the granulated sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined and being careful not to overmix.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use very ripe bananas with plenty of brown spots. You can also add chocolate chips or nuts for extra flavor and texture.
