Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Cream Wet Ingredients
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
Combine Ingredients
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined to form the cookie dough.
Roll and Sugar Coat
- Roll the cookie dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in the additional granulated sugar to coat evenly. Place the sugared balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
Bake and Add Kisses
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Immediately upon removing from the oven, gently press an unwrapped Hershey's Kiss into the center of each warm cookie.
Cooling
- Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely, allowing the chocolate to set.
Notes
For best results, do not overbake the cookies; they will continue to set as they cool. Make sure the butter and egg are at room temperature for a smoother dough.
