  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. Combine water, butter, sugar, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil, then remove from heat.
  2. Stir in the flour quickly until a ball of dough forms, then cool slightly before beating in the egg until smooth.
Fry the Churros
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot to 375°F (190°C), then pipe the churro dough into the hot oil, cutting into desired lengths.
  2. Fry the churros for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through, then remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
Coat and Serve
  1. Mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a shallow dish, then roll the warm churros in the mixture to coat evenly.
  2. Serve the churros immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as chocolate or caramel.
