Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Mixing
- In a separate large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.
- Stir in the granulated sugar, egg, and melted butter until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in any optional add-ins like chocolate chips or chopped nuts.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, sprinkle a little cinnamon in with the dry ingredients. The riper the bananas, the sweeter your bread will be, so use bananas with plenty of brown spots.
