Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 lbs beef sirloin cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 onion finely grated
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Skewers (wooden or metal)
  • Grill or large skillet

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the beef sirloin cubes, grated onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and olive oil.
  2. Mix thoroughly to ensure the beef is evenly coated with the marinade. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours, to allow the flavors to meld.
Cooking
  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. Thread the marinated beef onto the skewers, ensuring not to overcrowd them.
  3. Preheat your grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the cooking surface to prevent sticking.
  4. Cook the kebabs for 2-3 minutes per side, rotating them until all sides are nicely browned and the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.
Serving
  1. Remove the kebabs from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This helps to redistribute the juices, keeping the meat tender.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the marinade for a slight kick. These kebabs are delicious served with a side of rice, pita bread, or a fresh salad.
