Chilling and Churning
- Cover the mixture and chill thoroughly in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually 20-25 minutes, until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Freezing
- Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm, for best results.
Notes
For an extra touch, swirl in some peach preserves during the last few minutes of churning. Keep in mind that homemade ice cream is best enjoyed within a week for optimal freshness and texture.
