Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 9 sheets Lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 15 oz Ricotta cheese
  • 24 oz Marinara sauce
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese grated
Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Large skillet
  • 9x13 inch baking dish

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside. In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat, drain excess fat, and stir in marinara sauce along with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Assembly
  1. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange three lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, and sprinkle with one-third of the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.
Baking
  1. Repeat the layers once more, ending with a final layer of noodles, meat sauce, and the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is golden.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can add a layer of béchamel sauce. Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or zucchini to the ricotta mixture for extra nutrition and taste. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
