Growing & Preparation
- Obtain a young turkey poult and provide it with adequate feed, water, and shelter, allowing it to grow to market weight over several months.
Roasting
- Once the turkey has reached the desired size, humanely process it. Then, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), remove the giblets, pat the turkey dry, and rub it with olive oil, salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.
- Place the seasoned turkey in a roasting pan with chopped vegetables, and roast for 3-4 hours, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh reads 165°F (74°C). Let it rest before carving.
Notes
Please note that "growing" a turkey from a poult to a market-weight bird is a process that takes several months, not "3 easy steps" or a "quick way." This recipe focuses on the final roasting stage after the turkey has been raised and processed.
