Preparation
- Preheat your oven or toaster oven to 375°F (190°C), then arrange the sliced ciabatta bread on a baking sheet and toast for 5-7 minutes until lightly golden.
- While the bread is toasting, combine the diced tomatoes, fresh basil, minced garlic, a tablespoon of olive oil, and salt and pepper in a medium bowl, then stir gently until all ingredients are well mixed.
- Once the toasted ciabatta is ready, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before generously spooning the tomato mixture onto each slice.
- For an extra touch of flavor, drizzle each bruschetta with balsamic glaze, if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
For best results, use ripe, juicy tomatoes. You can also rub a raw garlic clove over the toasted bread before adding the tomato mixture for an extra garlicky kick.
