Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare an oven-safe baking dish.
- Cook the diced bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy.
Cooking
- Drain the excess grease from the skillet, leaving a small amount if desired, then add the chopped onion and sauté until softened.
- Combine the bacon and onion mixture with the canned baked beans, ketchup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in the baking dish; stir well to combine.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the beans are bubbly and slightly thickened.
Serving
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving warm.
Notes
For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the bean mixture before baking. Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less brown sugar. These baked beans are a perfect accompaniment to grilled meats or a summer barbecue.
