Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare an oven-safe baking dish.
  2. Cook the diced bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy.
Cooking
  1. Drain the excess grease from the skillet, leaving a small amount if desired, then add the chopped onion and sauté until softened.
  2. Combine the bacon and onion mixture with the canned baked beans, ketchup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in the baking dish; stir well to combine.
  3. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the beans are bubbly and slightly thickened.
Serving
  1. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the bean mixture before baking. Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less brown sugar. These baked beans are a perfect accompaniment to grilled meats or a summer barbecue.
