Ingredients

Meatloaf
  • 1.5 lbs Ground Beef
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 0.5 cup Onion finely chopped
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Baking pan
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, chopped onion, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined, but avoid overmixing.
Baking
  1. Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place it in the prepared baking pan.
  2. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  3. For an extra touch, you can spread a little extra ketchup or a glaze on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.
Resting
  1. Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  2. This resting period helps the juices redistribute, ensuring a moist and flavorful meatloaf.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider adding finely diced bell peppers or grated carrots to the meatloaf mixture. Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans for a complete meal.
