  • 15 ounces canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2-4 tablespoons cold water
  • salt to taste
For Serving (Optional)
  • olive oil for drizzling
  • paprika for garnish
  • fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and salt in a food processor.
  2. Process until smooth, gradually adding cold water until the desired consistency is reached.
Serving
  1. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl.
  2. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with paprika, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For an extra smooth hummus, remove the skins from the chickpeas before blending. Adjust lemon juice and salt to your preference. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
