Method
Prepare the Chicken
- Cut the chicken into 1-inch pieces and season with salt and pepper.
- Toss the chicken with cornstarch until evenly coated.
Cook the Chicken
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken and cook in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Set aside.
Make the Orange Sauce
- In a medium bowl, whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and orange zest.
- In a small bowl, whisk cornstarch with water to create a slurry.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the same skillet and bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
Combine and Serve
- Add the cooked chicken to the skillet with the sauce, tossing to coat.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired, and serve immediately with rice or noodles.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can double-fry the chicken. Serve with steamed white rice or noodles and a side of stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
