  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, cornstarch, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil to create the sauce.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add sliced beef and cook until browned, then remove from the skillet.
  2. Add broccoli florets to the same skillet and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  3. Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the prepared sauce. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.
  4. Serve immediately with rice, if desired.

Notes

For extra tenderness, marinate the beef in a tablespoon of soy sauce and a teaspoon of cornstarch for 15 minutes before cooking.
